“Data’s Yard” is a social enterprise in Rustavi, which works in the direction of raising environmental awareness and offers a variety of activities in the form of presentations, lectures, workshops, and practical activities. In “Data’s Yard” it is possible to buy potted plants and yard plants produced by them, as well as soil mixed for plants. In addition, “Data’s Yard” runs the #GROWYOUROWNFOREST campaign. This campaign involves collecting seeds of planted trees in city parks and squares, growing them, and then returning them to the city spaces.
The priority mission of “Data’s Yard” is to raise ecological awareness of school children (and not only) from an early age to respect and take care of the environment they live in with specially designed funny activities. “Data’s Yard” is open to anyone who cares about the ecology, cares about nature, and wants to live in a healthy environment!
The idea of “Data’s Yard” came to Data Tsintsadze as a result of his experience: “I devoted a certain part of my life to eco-activism and fought with my friends to improve the air quality in Rustavi. During this period when I was an active member of the “Gavigude” team, along with air pollution, another important problem was identified – lack of public awareness. This prompted me to start working on raising awareness in the local community and the space where this process began came to be known as “Data’s Yard”. Facebook and Instagram pages were created under the same name, where we started posting news about what happened in the yard. ”The unique story of the creation of “Data’s Yard” is an integral part of its identity.
“Data’s Yard” is innovative in its content, activities, and goals. First of all, space combines many interesting processes and people of different ages, interests, and professions for a common goal. The yard is a new word for the city of Rustavi, as the need for its existence was caused by air pollution in that exact city.
