3D Workshop

3D Workshop

Meet another winning team of Social Innovation Competition – Vakhtang Dolidze, Saba Siradze and Davit Vashakhmadze. Their idea is to utilize and recycle plastic remnants and create eco-friendly products. They are planning to implement the idea and establish the 3D Workshop in Ozurgeti. Their facility will sell filament thread (produced by recycling) as well as a variety of items made of it. At the same time, the Workshop will try to share its experience and business model with other municipalities.

Vakhtang Dolidze, Saba Siradze and Davit Vashakhmadze are childhood friends. Vakhtang is a graduate of the faculty of Architecture and Design, Saba is a specialist of International Relations, while Davit is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The friends believe that people who manage to come up with innovative ideas and do something that had not been done before are especially successful in the 21st century. Vakhtang had his first experience with a 3D printer during his university studies, and it was then that the printer’s capacities inspired his interest. Heavy ecological conditions in the country, the benefit from and the perspective of using 3D printer capacities led three friends to the development of the 3D Workshop concept, and they began to look for funding sources. They learned about the Social Innovation Competition through a social network and decided to participate. The friends used their chance, and now their plans for the workshop are coming true.
